This essay will ne focusing on dogberry, the constable and how he provides humor in the book. in the beginning of the book humor is a quality of perception that enables us to experience joy even when faced with adversity . In and the book much ado about nothing dogberry is a police constable that lives in messina. he is an individual that lacks intelligence  and miss uses words which contardicts his actual meaning.  dogberry is the head and under him is his dupty verges. verges follow dogberry with his lack of intelligence. dogberry is in charge of a group of men in which he gives order, but there is not much work to be done.

in addition as dogberry gives his final order to his watches to keep an keen eye on leanato house because hero is gettng married the following day and he feels there is a lt of chaos. as dogbery and verges made there way off to watches got themselves prepared to go to sleep but there were disturbed by don john servant borachio about what happen. the plan of shaming hero to prove that she was disloyal while her to be fiance claudio was watching. however the watches overheard the both of them were lock up and taken away to dogberry and verges for questioning.


to conclude there is humor provided because even though dogberry and verges lack intelligence and seems in competent. the evil don john brother of don pedro plotting became open to the public and both verges were  good hearted to expose the wrong deed of don john
